I crossed Marianna's Peace with Neves Azorean Red this year, and I would like to cross the F1 to another variety (maybe Barlow Jap, Earl's Faux or Stump of the World), using the F1 as the father. I am just wondering how the leaf type in a cross like that would turn out? Will they be RL or PL? Or maybe both types will be represented in the F1? I have test-sowed the Marianna's Peace x Neves Azorean Red F1 so I know the cross took:

Yes, those are the exact same leaf shapes as I got in the F1 of Brandywine x Neves Azorean Red. Your cross should produce some excellent F1 tomatoes. However, I did get some male sterile F4s this year for some strange and unknown reason ... several plants in fact ... but others have turned out great.
I cannot answer your question as to how many F1s from the outcross PL (PL x RL) will be PL and RL, but I imagine the results will be mixed with some of each.

Thank you for the answer, will the size, taste, color ect. also vary in the F1 fruits? And does it mean that the PL's will have more imputs from Marianna's Peace and the other PL parent, and that the RL's will be more similar to NAR in regards to size, taste and color ect.? I'm sorry if these are some stupid questions... I'm new ;D

I think since the other PLs you mention as potential parents all are clear skinned OPs that some of your F1s will be pink and some red like NAR. Possibly Mule will say the ratio for skin color also will be 50/50.

It look exactly like the MP plants I grew this year. Marianna's Peace is a awesome variety in my opinion - great production and fantastic taste (which is also the reason why I used it in this cross).

There are 12 chromosomes in tomato so when you compare the PL vs RL segregants, you will statistically have 1/12 more genetics from the PL plants. This is not enough to be significant except for those genes that are linked on the same chromosome with PL. In other words, do your selection based on other traits, not just leaf type.
