Hello all. Papa Vic sent me here and I thought I'd say hi and introduce myself.
Been growing tomatoes for years, but not seriously obsessed until three years ago when a friend sent me several heirloom seeds to try. Now I spend the winter months researching what I am going to try in the spring.
I have enjoyed gardening for as long as I can remember. I used to be really into giant pumpkins and successfully grew a 678 lb pumpkin in 2007. If anyone needs seeds, I have thousands. I have backed way off of the pumpkins and moved to tomatoes (which i can actually eat) to go along with the rest of the garden.
Last year I grew 73 tomato plants (20 varieties)....planning on dropping it down to 50 this year.
I am 31, male, licensed land surveyor, Indiana, married with two kids, etc. etc. etc.

I've been there too. The Indiana State Fairgrounds that is, but for a Poultry Show, not a Pumpkin Weigh-Off. I also used to be a member of a Giant Vegetable Growers Club. Giant pumpkins are fun, but just think how much more stuff you can fit in the same space in your garden. Pleased to meet you, Stevenson.
