I didn't mean to kill this thread. I was just being silly. In the TOMATO SHOW thread, post number 55, there is a yellow tomato with red stripes(just below the bucket). Is this Fs also? Would anyone know what variety that is? Yep, hillbillypie, it's called "Beauty Queen" This might help: t.tatianastomatobase.com:88/wiki/Beauty_Queen

Thanks Dude. Never grown that one. Yours doesn't really look like the on at TTB.

I've been interested in stripes for a few years, and posted several photos and my thoughts on genetic control at frogsleapfarm.blogspot.com/

An awesomely "deep" thread. Intriguing. It helps one to know what he or she is looking for when passing through a sea of tomatoes making particular selections based upon one's own taste. Culling the herd so to speak.
Does anybody have a link to the article? I googled it and it took me to a pay-per-view site $34. Somebody gave me a link. Thanks.

Wow - what's the pedigree? Plain red inside? My guess would be Fs, but I've never seen anything quite like it. Were the stripes evident on green fruit? Any seed available?

The tomato in the photo is just a Cherokee Purple with very pronounced stripes. I've not had one quite that defined. I saved seed, so I will see if it throws heavy stripes this year.
