Here is the garlic I got from our very own JT, he sent me enough for a nice bed. It was some of the niceset looking bulbs I have ever seen. Thanks JT. As you can see they are doing great.

Wowzer. Enough for a "nice" bed doesn't begin to cover it. JT, that's very Generous of you. Good Luck with the Garlic Darth. What variety is it?

Music is a good all purpose. I usually grow it. I had to look up the other three. Northern White and Zemo "may be German White" is what one website said. They also said that they have Strong, Robust flavour that stays around for a long time. The stuff that dream dates are made of, lol "Hhhhhiiii, HOw do you like me So far?" Reising I could not find? Tried a few variations of the spelling including Reisling but no luck. I'll keep looking. TY

Too early for Me this morning obviously. Thanks JT I got it now. Wow, Riesig cloves are an intense purple colour. Makes the Italian Purple and German Red's look brown-ish or pale by comparison. Did you purchase your seedstock from Gillie's? www.gilliefarms.com/Riesig_Cloves.htmlI think Flowerpower and I were yakking with them at a Garlic Festival in NYS last fall.

yes, the riesig i gave jtcm came from gillie farms purchased at saugerties. their website describes it as rocambole, but visually, I suspect it's porcelain. i like it for its very hot flavor. i have had a number of rocamboles over the years and the best have wider shorter leaves; there was one I had called aces that was really outstanding. I'm looking forward to harveasting Ukrainian this year. killarney red and tempest both did not size up very well for me. i dont think zemo and northern white are the same as german white, or each other for that matter. zemo may be northern white selected for earliness. german white has a distinct angularity and pointiness to the clove wrappers, the other porcelains are more rounded or blunt, but not as much so as the marbled purple stripes I like to grow. most of the porcelains are indeed very similar. i'll try to post some pictures of what I harvest, but I'm not good at putting garlic in the mail as Darth will attest. harvest this year is the latest that i ever remember. zemo, pskem, and estonian red will be ready very soon. i like varieties that have large cloves and bulbs, though pskem, one of my favorites, makes a small bulb with medium cloves and nice flavor raw. it stores astonishingly well for me due to the tight wrappers. i still have some that is good and juicy from last year's harvest. Too early for Me this morning obviously. Thanks JT I got it now. Wow, Riesig cloves are an intense purple colour. Makes the Italian Purple and German Red's look brown-ish or pale by comparison.
