Nastarana:
To answer your question about Tomatoville: it is a mainly tomato forum with almost any other gardening sections as well. Respectfully, Darth and Blane, the rules of engagement are clearly stated. If following the guidelines set up by a website do not appeal to the user, by all means, don't visit.
I have been a frequent visitor to Tomatoville since its inception and I visit this site daily. Many Tomatoville members are on both with no problems. I personally have never had a single problem at either site or the "Not Just Tomatoes" either. If you try to stir the pot in a negative way, you will wreak negativity. This site is mostly gentle and enjoyable as is Tomatoville. Each has positives and folks do their best to be welcoming to all comers. So few have been ejected they can be counted on one hand. I refuse to visit Idig because of the negative atmosphere. To be banned is never "for no reason"; there are reasons not to like a place and that is personal. To generalize is not good manners.
Nastarana, go to Tomatoville and try it out. It is very informative with some of the tomato world's most informed and informative members. I may be crazy, but The Tomato Garden and Tomatoville are actually quite similar. I like both places a lot.

Well Paul I can tell you from personal experience being banned was about something but I sure can't tell you what. Believe me when I say there are more than a handful. I need not mention names nor will I. I get PMs all the time about it, as I am a mod here, JT doesn't like it known who is and who isn't, not important, but I can tell you for sure some of these members have no clue as to why they were banned, not disrespecting another site, that isn't really the intention, take it how you will. However when I tried to get a reply on the reason I was banned............ do the math. About the only thing I can think of was perhaps guilt by association. So thats MY story, there are alot of others that can give you there insight if they choose to.

Tomatoville is a forum mostly dedicated tomatoes as this one. The weakness is that it's owned and administered by one person, who sets all rules and makes all decisions. The strength (of course) is the unique membership and the active presence of Carolyn. I never had troubles there, but I wouldn't be without Idig either.
