New to this forum (which I heard about last week from someone in my Master Gardener class), but not so new to gardening, which I have been involved in since the early 70's. My garden is not anything out of the ordinary: pole beans, tomatoes, okra, squash, corn, and a variety of other vegetables as taste and interest dictate. I keep a few hives of bees as well. Glad to be here; hope to learn from you all!

Good to see you here, the season's winding down and we'll all be more active here soon, as we begin to daydream and plan for the next season to come! You've been at it longer than me, I'll be glad to learn from you and share what I can. Always good to see someone keeping beehives, it's becoming a very important thing to do with all the challenges these days. I'll eventually have a few of my own, been around a few beekeepers and always was fascinated with it, keep us up to date on how that goes for you!

There are some excellent beeks in your state (although at least one of your folks has moved here recently), so you should have no difficulty getting good bees and equipment locally. On another note, my wife's great-grandparents were from Shawnee and I believe she still has relatives in that area.

I'm about equal distance from Norman and Shawnee, I'm in Shawnee at least a couple of times a week. Where are you? From your grow list I assume you've got a reasonably long season, esp. for okra.

I would like to keep beehives but I just haven't gotten to that part of my life yet. In any case- welcome to the forum. This is a very good forum if you are very focused on open-pollinated tomatoes and tomato breeding. Where in the world or the U.S. are you from?
