F3 fruit from a line derived from the cross Golden Tiger F1 x Dora. This is the best of the F3's and resembling more the paternal parent. It was the latest of ~300 in my garden, but also one of the better tasting.

Very nice.
What is the background of the parent 'Golden Tiger' F1? Is it a commercial hybrid? I have heard of Roughwood Golden Tiger but that is probably not the same one.

It is a commercial hybrid from Israel - a striped LSL plum.

Thanks. This was proving very hard to google, but with the Israel connection I eventually found it, but only at one site; that of the breeder. Interestingly, the same company that bred Sugardrop and Moruno. www.toma-tech.com/products/golden_tiger.html

A few years ago TomaTech offered seed of three of their hybrids (Golden Tiger, Tiger Eye and Chocolitos) on eBay. I made crosses to all three as a source of the gs gene, LSL, tolerance to cracking and high Brix. I have F4 lines now from crosses to each of the three. This F3 was the most variable with segregants ranging from the one above to a large cherry type.
