Just wanted to introduce myself to the community. This is my 3rd year of having a garden (9x36 raised bed) and grow mostly tomatoes and a few peppers. My wife and I recently began drawing our Social Security but are continuing to work 18 hours a week. We have 3 grown kids, 8 grandkids and a dog. We had to start over 5 years ago when we lost everything in the Joplin tornado. But we feel very blessed since all we lost was stuff and we survived. My wife thinks I am crazy since I planted 25 tomato plants a week ago and after reading this forum for a couple of weeks I thought I had better join, so I would have some friends who would understand my tomato passion. This is my first time for planting all heirlooms, except for 4 Big Beef. All are looking very good and showing good growth after only being in the ground a week. 1 Golden Girl 1 Big Rainbow 4 Cherokee Purple 5 Akers West Virginia 4 Brandywine Red 4 Black Krim 2 Mortgage Lifter 4 Big Beef We eat all we can stand and I give away the excess to friends, family, neighbors and I try to take some a few times a season to a local nursing home. Sorry for rambling, but I am excited to being a member of the forum and hope to learn about better gardening and making new friends. Steve

This site was abandonded in 2012. I stop by from time to time to encourage new posters to use an active site about tomatoes. This will be my last post to you from me.
