Excellent!...Thanks Jt- I was at Wally world today, sold out....Ill try another one across the state tommorry! Last year I used some folded mesh thingy...it worked, but I would rather use these bags now. I don't know if you have any "Dollar Tree" stores near you Blane... That is where I found the bags that I have. My bags are about 2.5 inches by 3.5 inches (I will have to measure them) not quite as big as Jt's Bags... I think that what I have is what I will be using this year to bag individual blossoms. I will be on the look out for those larger bags! If anyone knows where to find the larger bags let me know! If I don't find any locally this year I will have to order some online for next year... Thanks Summerhawk. I looked at Wally World, Meijers, Target... Nada! I did find them at Michaels but they were $6 for 12 bags. What did you pay at Dollar Tree?

Thanks Summerhawk. I looked at Wally World, Meijers, Target... Nada! I did find them at Michaels but they were $6 for 12 bags. What did you pay at Dollar Tree? Everything at the Dollar Tree is $1.00! There were 6 bags in each package!!! 6 bags for one dollar, I purchased every bag that they had! all except for the yellow colored bags for fear that the yellow bags would attract bees... They do have them at Dollar Tree. Unfortunately the one store was out of them and they are expecting a new line in, so nothing doing at that store. I called the other store and the cashier was too busy to check... twice!

There really isn't much reason to bag an emasculated blossom. Doesn't hurt anything though.

Im guessing....Today is thursday....by Saturday and even Sunday, the female should be ready for her hubby to come on in! If Im making any inacurrate decisions, please let me know. Sunday might be too late. I think it would be better to make the cross on Friday, and maybe make a second attempt on Saturday to be on the safe side. When I made my first crosses I followed the advice on KM's site which was to wait 24-36 hours after emasculation, and it worked out well.

Good point maf. I agree. Also depends a bit on what stage of blossom development it was emasculated at.

Could we have a discussion with photos to clarify what the prime stage for emasculation is? Good topic for a new thread. I have plans to photograph the different stages this spring.

Plano tackle-boxes rule. Nice simple set-up Hawk.
