Black From Tula is a great tomato for me, it is one of my best sellers. I did not have a cracking problem ever with this one I did however have a radial cracking problem with Black Krim. This tomato is a very tasty tomato here, I am sure there will be people who have different experiences, because there are more than a couple factors that have influenece on taste such as climate, nutreients, location ...etc. I would recomend trying this one for sure. I still have never tasted "Smokey" in any black yet and hear that in many descriptions of black tomatoes, nor I have tasted "Salty". BFT is also not a shy producer.

pics the blacks throughout the middle of the first pic are all B from T. The second pic shows one large, early B from T sliced. As you can see, size was mainly fairly consistent, esp so after the first fruits. More pics later.

I've not grown Black from Tula, but it looks great.
Andrey Baranovski sent me seeds marked "Purple from Tula" and said he'd brought them back from the Ukraine last year. He lives in Belarus. I'm assuming Purple from Tula is the same as Black from Tula except with clear skin rather than yellow epidermis. But that's just an assumption.
I didn't have space to grow out Purple from Tula, so I sent half the seeds to Texas.

Well then I guess we have yet a new name for the same tomato from Russia. Not surprising.
