Hello everyone, I am new to growing garlic and have just a couple of them, but I hear porcelain is the ones to grow? I would like to plant a giant row if anyone has any or can work out something.
Thanks, Darth

Thanks, Darth Darth, I've been growing garlic for several years, it's easy. I started out buying one of those net bags full for a couple bucks at wal-mart or sams. in an 18" wide row I stagger 3 rows 6" apart and the cloves 6" apart in the rows staggering the middle row @ 3"from the end. Stickem about 1 1/2" - 2" deep, cover with pine straw. Start them at the end of Oct or early Nov. Then in June the stalks will start to brown, before they completly die off digem up. If you want specific varietys it'll cost some money unless you can find someone to trade.

Dean, I have Elephant garlic if interested, I think I have around a pound I could give that isn't planted and could spare. I also have three other varieties, but like a fool I forgot to label them so I can't remember what they are.
