I know this could also be in the thread in "OTHER FOOD CROPS", but Tom breeds both tomatoes and potatoes (which indeed belong there), so I thought it was most appropriate to create a new thread for the tomato stuff. Until Kozula started sharing some of her seeds, here anything except red, pink and yellow/orange tomatoes had to be bought abroad, and Green Zebra was one of the best known varieties: Black i Green Zebra (Black and Green Zebra). (From the thread Black and Blue Tomato)In the Czech Republic it's probably still so, and this is what I found in a discussion on black-red tomatoes: fantastická Green Zebra (fantastic GZ) Some varieties have been released, either commercially or in the SSE Yearbook. I don't know where it's possible to buy Banana Legs or Green Sausage/Greensleeves, but Baker Creek carries Green Zebra and the more recent Casady's Folly.

Gunnar, it is very thoughtful and generous of you and Kazula to unselfishly share Kazula's seeds with us Americans. Thank you, and we all look forward to growing them out and passing them along to other tomato growers.

It's just like Paps for taking the lead here. Yes Gunnar thanks to you and Ms Kozula, We certainly are very much appreciative of these seeds, can't wait to get started growing and looking forward to comparing with others.

Can't wait to get started growing and looking forward to comparing with others. Kozula's striped tomatoes (with gs) are all derived from Copia, although she also used another GZ progeny, Black Zebra, in her initial crosses. I guess you and Blane can start tomatoes soon, as you don't have to wait till the second half of May to plant anything out as we in Central and Northern Europe and the Northern States and Canada.

his claim of "OSU being more blue" is somewhat of a fallacy. The way I read the sentence, Wagner was saying OSU Blue is "more blue" that Blue Fruit (or Blaufruct), which I think is just a gf tomato of some sort from Germany or somewhere in Europe, and not even relevant to anthocyanin tomatoes like OSU Blue or P20. Secondarily, that truncated thread is from January 2010, and I wonder if Silverseeds yet has grown out any of those tomato varieties Wagner sent him a year ago, and if so, how they did in the New Mexico high desert. pv

Whether one came from the other would be conjecture. The world of OP tomatoes seems to exist and thrive on conjecture. You can't be a big fish in a little pond without a little conjecture. ;D

I'll also post a link to Tom's new site here even if the tomato part is not ready, or I just can't find my way round: newworldcrops.com/wp/Ordering potatoes and potato seeds seems to work ok, but I haven't been able to navigate through the tomato varieties, and only found F2s and F3s thanks to a direct link.

Well, Nobody knows if he accepts checks or money orders, there are no order forms and he certainly doesn't answer questions in a timely fashion...not a real good way to start a bussiness IMO.

If you have a paypal account it is pretty simple to order, otherwise not. I ordered a F2 and F3 population and the seed came within a week. There were only 8 seeds of the F2 line, so I'm guessing he has very limited supply of some of the stuff he's listed.
