These are 2 very nice bi-color tomatoes, although my seeds were from Sorellina, and supposed to be Little Lucky, they came out all heart shapes. They were a little on the late side, but they produced plenty of nice medium sized tomatoes. I recently asked Lee about the larger sister to Striped Sweetheart Because Craig LeHoullier says that they are supposed to be a very large heart. All the expressions of that cross are keepers in my book. Maybe Lee can pop in with an opinion.

Awesome tomato. I don't believe in the separate heart shaped thing though. More likely environmental variation in a variety thats simply genetically more prone to it if you ask me. You can see in the pic below that a couple of the fruit appear as what "some" would consider hearts due to the very liberal definition of it. Anyway, this does well in my garden. Except for the fact that it is vary late. It was 81 DTM for me last year in a year where nearly every plant i grew was a week or two ahead of its normal maturity date due to perfect spring weather. PL, 3-7oz fruit, moderate sized indeterminate vines.

I only had good striping and production from little lucky in a warm summer in NH. On a more average summer (as in cooler and wetter) it is an underperformer. Both taste, color, and productivity. IMO for right-coasters, CT and south will be more pleased with this cultivar.

Yes, I am expecting this to be a good one this year along with Striped Sweetheart.

I only have seeds for Lucky Cross, but maybe I should also consider these, they (at least Little Lucky Heart) were also mentioned in Spudleafwille's "potato leaved hearts" list.

My experience with both these, and Lucky Cross, is great taste and poor production. They are just too late for an average Minnesota growing season. We had a long summer last year and I was able to get several crosses made to much earlier parents - I am hopeful.

snip Interesting how the patterns look like the Maltese Cross.
