Yes, in the cross I'm working with this year (F2), there is a marked difference in internode spacing even among those plants that are 100% dwarf and rugose. Some are very closely spaced and others a bit more length.
This is true of the non-rugose F2s as well which has led me to select only for the shorter internodes in both the dwarf and the non-dwarf F2s.

Sorry, no taste test yet. I will pick it when I have 3 ripe fruits or so - then I will extract the seeds and sow them right away. I don't expect these F1's to be very tasty (considering the mother), but maybe they will surprise me

They are around 1 m. tall (3.28 ft.), I think they could best be described as semi-det. So far I have sowed over 80 F2 seeds, it will be interesting to see how many sun dwarfs I will get. Here is a picture of one of the pots, before the seeds was covered with potting mix (this one has around 45 seeds in it):

Soren do you know what an "internode" is? It may be useful to note what the internode length is on the F1 plants when looking at selections next year. It might help determine which plants are heterozygous and may be worthy of looking for more in the F3. I will only grow the dwarf/sun dwarf F2 plants, but I will try to select the dwarfs with the shortest internodes like PVP said I have now sowed over 115 seeds of the orange F1, and 200+ seeds of the two other plants (both have red fruit - can somebody explain this?). I have also tasted the fruits, and the taste really surprised me, they were really good - almost as good as Sungold (although not as sweet)

Nice to see your results Soren! Nice looking little orange tomato! I am excited to try my hand at crossing this year! I will be breeding PL mothers x RL pollen doners and then choosing the RL seedlings of which to grow and save seed... I might try a RL x RL or a PL x PL if I am feeling confident:) Good job! I am looking forward to following the progress with what you have here.

Thanks SH, and good luck with your own crosses I have some very promising F2 plants, both normal size dwarfs and a couple of sun dwarfs from the orange fruited F1 (I will post pictures when I get them transplanted). The F2 plants from the red fruited F1's are still too small to tell for sure. But for now, here is another picture of the orange fruited F1:

Here is one of the F2's, a very tiny plant with foliage that looks similar to Micro Tom's. I think this one could be a sun dwarf.
