I'm always up for a lesson in genetics. In school I liked those maps for figuring out the chances your kid was going to be bald (or whatever). All I can think of is Karnaugh maps but that's computer blahblah. I don't know how tomatoes work. I've been scared of plant DNA since I found out about the randomness of apples...

Mule, I was thinking the same thing. Logically, there's no genetic reason why the first fruits would be any different than the mid-season or late season fruits.
As for the stigmas of the "megablooms" being statistically more, prone to cross pollination, could this be countered by a slightly earlier emasculation, and bagging?
