While it has been a rough start to a season with 2-4,D damage to 90% of my plants, and I had to pull about 20 so far (including his crosses), but two of Frogsleap NARX F3 x ZebraHeart were planted in the different location, and sustained minimal damage (which makes me quite happy). They are babied (much like the rest of what has survived). One has set some fruits (transplanted May 7th), and we are showing some skin! While both plants look identical in the growth and leaf shapes, the other one has flowers, but no fruits yet... Regards, D

The surviving plants are very healthy and strong, lower leafs reaching over 20" in length: Actually very exciting to see what colors and shapes we are going to get out of these! Thank you for the opportunity! Regards, D

Wow, great looking plants and fruit. I am also growing this. My plants are about 4 to 5 inches tall and ready to go into the garden and into a container. They have also been babied, buds are starting to form, can't wait! Weather wise it's been a rough start here in Indiana. It went from 45 to 92 monsoons to drought. I was hauling plants in and out, afraid to plant. I just began planting last week. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to grow some exciting tomatoes this year. Thanks for the photos, it really adds to the excitement.

Completely understand about the weather! Had to plant almost a month later compare to the past few years, frosts, hail, severe winds, downpour rains, you name it, so I know how you feel!
Good luck with the growouts! Please, post some photos of the progress as the season progresses!

Little update... These 2 remaining plants are now showing some 2-4,D effects as well, which leads me to believe that it is the freaking straw! Despite of that, there are still flowers, and now fruits are set on the second plant (about 12 days behind the first one) The shape is a little different, but I think we have another "striped" beauty: First plant getting stronger contrast in it's stripes/speckles: Regards, D

Hey D, Thanks again for the great photos. So sorry to hear that the plants are showing signs of damage. I got mine in the garden this week and I have blooms! I will attempt to post some photos. I've never posted photos online before, hate to admit it. My husband is going to help, I actually just got my first digital camera. I still use film, develop it myself, work in the darkroom. I'm a bit behind the times. Hopefully I'll be able to get it figured out. If not, I'll p.m. you and can send you some photos. My plants are doing well, can't wait to see some fruit. I was going to add some straw but I'll hold off. I bagged up some oak leaves I might try instead. Good luck, F.

Good luck with your growout, Fiogga! Glad your plants are doing well!
On the photography - still doing your own developing? Wow, that is as rare now days as it gets, hat is off to you!!! I still have my Pentax MZ-10 film camera, but since the purchase of my first DSLR about 5 years ago, I find myself using film less and less. I do however admire old lenses, and do use them on the digital bodies. Nothing quite like the old glass with manual focus, manual exposure where I get to decide what I want the final result to be, not camera.
For the garden, however, I seem to just grab an old P&S little pocket one... That is what I call lazy ;D
Happy growing, Fiogga!
Regards, D

That is an interesting trait on those plants in that third picture. One fruit growing from what looks to be a main stem rather than a truss.

Good observation, JCM! There are quite few of those "off the main stem" fruits set. Second plant showing very similar trait as well. And now that the weather has stabilized, more flowers emerged, otherwise both were just average in terms of flowers and the fruit set.
Getting bigger, and the stripes are very very pronounced on both plants.
Mark, considering the parents, I have high hopes indeed! Few more weeks I guess, we shall see!
