Its now Thursday and still rainy. I emasculated many blossoms on Monday but rain or other stuff has kept me from crossing them. I realize it depends somewhat on the stage of the blossom when it was emasculated, but I'm wondering in general.

This is not going to be much help, but I would think the cooler the weather, the longer they would remain viable.

I'm assuming you emasculated a day or two before the flowers would open. If that's the case I'd say they might be receptive for 3-4 days, but the rain might squirrel things up a bit. I think you may be able to tell by general appearance of the pistil, and making sure the stigma is still intact.

Thanks Frogs. I am gonna attempt some crosses with some of those now 4 day old emasculated blossoms and see if any take.
