So, how does a tomato in the F2 go from Orange (sorry not the best pic).... to Ochre? Sort of a orange with green flesh? Curious minds want to know!

I guess that is the colour you see when the green flesh gene is added to an orange tomato.
The green flesh gene (gf) from the purple parent is recessive, so not expressed in that particular F2 (and definitely not in the F1), but was lurking in the background and expressed in the F3.

I don't know how it happened (aside from having just read the other responses), but it's beautiful. I love that green gel! How did it taste? I was fascinated with orange tomatoes for a long time, but I have yet to taste one that compares with black or purple toms. Wondering if that green gel makes all the difference? And also wondering why it is that I like the green flesh of, say, Black Krim, for example, but not green-when-ripes (at least not the few I've tried)? Real beauty you've got there!
