As I recently moved into an apartment I've had to let my in-ground garden go. As a result, I've got several plants in large pots. Several varieties seem to be doing quite well (Patio, Homestead, Black Krim) while the Cherokee Purples, Costolutto Genovese and Big Rainbows are not going well.
That said, I've been attempting to cross-pollinate my patio plants with flowers from a Black Krim. My goal is to create a "Patioesque" plant with Black Krim-like fruit. Thoughts? Can this be successful? Will the seeds breed true?

So, I've cross-pollinated both ways so I have Better Bush x Black Krim growing on Black Krim plants and Black Krim x Better Bush growing on Better Bush plants. One thing I've learned from raising livestock is that sometimes it does make a difference which side is maternal and which side is paternal. So, the first photo is Better Bush as the mother plant and the second is with the Black Krim as the mother plant. So far, there is only one fruit on the Black Krim plant.
