Are any of you growing Flathead Monsters this year?
I am Curious if Dean saved seeds from that sandwich. ;D mmm mmm mmm!
Please post pics if you have seedlings started. I would like to see them. Thanx

I guess I will not be doing my FM x this year. And that is the one cross that got me started. Oh well, I know something better will arise.

Bummer. Doesn't mean you still can't make a few crosses.

I'm growing FH from two different sources: seed that I am told originated with Darth/Willie; and seed from Dorothy Beiswanger, who initially named this variety. I'm looking forward to seeing if they are identical.

Are you growing both the pink and the orange, Darth? You'll have to save me some next year ! I'm confused about where it came from-I've read Black krim, PP, Indian stripe and one other one!??!!

I am only growing the orange this year, it is supposed to be out of black Krim. When i first got them, I was expecting Black. I even was mad when they turned orange... until i ate one..wow it was the best tomato in the garden last year.

There was a lot of misinformation on the boards regarding the origins of FHM. The fact is, the yellow/orange fruit appeared on a plant of Pruden's Purple and remained true to type for several generations. I don't think anyone's sure if the red/pink types are the result of a cross or genetic variation. Are you growing both the pink and the orange, Darth? You'll have to save me some next year !
