IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT SPUDLEAF WILLIE'S PL SEED COLLECTION:
As of 10-1-10, I have decided to turn over my collection of potato leaf tomato seeds and all information and research concerning said collection to Dean Slater of PKS Heirloom Tomatoes and Seeds.
It was a long and hard decision fo me to do this as I want the collection of spudleaf seeds and information I have assembled in the past 50 years to be passed on. I want the collection of potato leaf tomato seeds and information to be maintained and expanded by a competent, interested individual after I am no longer able to do so.
Dean and I have over the past year became very close friends and he is the person in whom I trust to administrate and continue my work in potato leaf tomatoes. Dean has the land and gardening expertise and is located in an ideal climate for growing tomatoes as well as the desire, skills, and interest to do so.
Health issues have made it difficult , if not impossible, for me to do all the growouts necessary to maintain the collection and information about the spudleaf tomato. That is the primary reason for passing on the collection to Dean.
I stiil will have an active role in operating the collection, but in an advisory and planning function. Dean will be doing all the growouts and seed distribution requests in Michigan. He can be contacted in the following ways: Dean Slater 23463 Faylor Copemish. MI 49625 Phone: 231-378-4117 8am-8pm Central Time e-mail: deanslater41@yahoo.com

Bill glad to see you will be still involved and hopefully you will still be able to grow a few spudleaf varieties now and then. And I hope you will keep posting here at the tomatogarden as you and a few others are the main reason I came here. Handing the baton to Dean is a good choice and I'm sure he will run with it. Ami

Papa Vic says there's more, too!
I sent a gob of Spudayellow Strawberry seeds this week. Maybe a thousand or so. Those were grown for Bill Malin, but he told me to send them to you. They go in his book, not mine.
BTW, that was the best plant ever for Spudayellow Strawberry, and the tomatoes were HUGE!

Darth. Exactly how many spudleaf varieties from the collection did you log in so far? Inquiring minds are anxiously awaiting the tally...including ole Spud himself ?
