Has anyone else gotten other accdentaly crossed PLs which produced different colored fruits and has saver seeds from them? If so, i would like a few seed.
An unusual spudleaf variety will be sent in return for your different colored variety sent to me, along with any history and details where you got them,

JayTee and I briefly discussed his clear skin KBX, and at the time, I thought my KBX had yellow epidermis.
However, I had two KBX out in the garage getting ripe after frost, and ate the last one yesterday. When I scraped absolutely all the flesh off the inside of the skin, it sure looked clear. I couldn't believe it at first, and cleaned off another piece of skin carefully holding it under tap water until all the flesh was washed off. Clear.
Seems the flesh of KBX is so yellowed with Tangerine gene coloring, that even the least bit of flesh or juice left on the skin makes it appear yellow rather than clear. But when all the stain is rinsed off the skin, it's clear for sure.
I got seeds for KBX from AmiDeutch (Ted in Germany) and from JayTee. But the ones I grew were the ones sent by Ted.
It makes me no difference whether KBX is supposed to be yellow epidermis or clear, this was a great tomato for me in the garden and on the plate. And I'll be regrowing the seeds I saved from the 2010 plant in my garden and growing several vines next summer.

My seed for KBX came from Garden Mama (Martha Hufford) who discovered the variety. I grew Martha's seed in 2007 and regrew KBX again in 08 and 09 from saved seed. Ami

Normally, I would've torn a vine out that took so long to get into setting tomatoes. This thing was as late or later than Yellow Brandywine or Dixie Golden Giant ... both of which I tore out and never grew again.
But Darrel Jones and Keith Mueller told me to be patient, that KBX really gets into its stride in the heat. Boy were they right!
Once this thing finally got started, it never stopped until a killin' frost in mid-November. And the weather was hot and very dry. In fact, weather service now says this was one of the 3 hottest years on record for Evansville, and we're still like 10 inches below normal for annual rainfall. It stopped raining in late July and didn't rain again until November.
KBX kicked Orlov Yellow's ass 3 ways to Sunday. There were only about 4 other vines that even kept pace with KBX in the drought, and only one of those was PL.

My source was DJ. It was definitely clear skin, but like I've mentioned to PV it was very difficult to determine the true color of the skin. I had to compare it side by side with a piece of yellow skin from another variety.
