Thinking of starting my peppers up soon as well. We eat a lot more sweet peppers than hot round here so this will be the year of the giants LOL
Big Bertha Giant Chinese (though was developed in America?) and the Giant Marconi
Have to really limit the # of pepper varieties this year to make more room for tomatoes

Groundhog Day! That is a good way to figure it. I am waiting until February this season. I think even for the slow peps. Hey that is a few days from now! I will also start perennials (herbs and flowers) and eggplant and leeks and possibly scallions at that time. Last year I took all the scallions I bought from the store and stuck the bottoms in dirt until I had 3 very closely planted trays. We trimmed the tops when we wanted chive like stuff and then I planted them out in April. It gave me full grown scallions the first market in May. Sure they were originally store bought but the tops grew fresh. Anyway that is a nice thing to get going early in the season.

I started one tray today but need to wait for my tray inserts I ordered to start the rest. I ordered 4 packs for the peppers. I also started two trays of perennials herbs and flowers and one tray of scallions. I finally got around to bagging up all the seeds I saved and guess what? one wasn't labeled and I forgot what it was! I have 6 more trays of peppers to start in the next week.

I arn't gonna attempt to keep the greenhouse warm for plant starting till around 6 weeks before garden plantin time, which means I'll wait till about the middle of Mar to start em all. Anything with reasonable seed vigor grows quite fast anyway. I got plenty stuff to get done tween now and then anyway.
