I thought this might be interesting. I bought these tomatoes this week. I ate them all in a day. Best BLT I have had since August. I had to pay $14 for these 3 and had low expectations, but they were really good. Two are Cherokee Purple and the other one was not labeled. These were grown in Mexico and sold at Whole Foods. I was in there trying to find Tasty-Lee, which is nowhere to be found. I still can't believe how good these were. Please note: Don't eat 2 pounds of tomatoes in a day when your body has not had any in almost 5 months.

The one that was not labled, very interesting....what do you think it is? I don't know Blane. I bet the distinctive netting should make bells go off for someone. I thought it was a GWR when I bought it but before I sliced these up it had turned quite yellow. I wish I would have taken another picture after I sliced it but I couldn't wait. ;D Here is another pic that shows that "netting" as I am calling it.

A better question = did you save seed? AMEN to that. That netting appears to be on the outside of the skin like scaring or zippering.

A better question = did you save seed? What kind of tomato growing nut job would I be if I didn't save seed? ;D Just the yellow. I didn't need any CP. It had a lot of seed. I ate most of them but I did pour all the seeds off of the plate and they are fermenting now.

I know I already have far too many varieties to grow out this year, but if you have any to spare...?

I'll wait and see what comes out after the seeds ferment, but I should have a few. I didn't take a picture of it sliced. Dang! It was quite yellow inside. Dare I say golden?

Did ya like the taste Hillbilly? It was decent but nowhere near the taste of those CP. I can't really think of a yellow tomato that I am in love with. ...I think I'll start a new thread about yellows...
