I'm finding it a little confusing when it comes to the F1's and such? You read some forums and people say "NO WAY" no hybrids here, but you read their grow list and it shows them growing F1's or F2's? Are they not hybrids?

yup rich they all are hybrids. you should grow out a variety for at least to the F7 to be sure its stable. only then can u say its OP and will breed true from there on.
But very rarely a variety will revert back to the F2 phenotype (how it looks). My Throwback Potato Leaf Plum is an example of that which occurred in the F15 growout.

I am photogenic, just sayin'
I think there are many reasons people choose to grow only OP tomatoes, I think a lot of those reasons are valid, but, not for everybody. I think of late there has been too much focus on the idea that OP tomatoes are the only valid way for a gardener to grow tomatoes and somehow be considered to be a cool gardener. I think for a lot of people, the ability to grow a lot of veggies with the edge that some of the disease resistance and hybrid vigor offered by F1 types is a added value.

Oh, you mean it was a serious question. Sorry I think the objection for many folks who badmouth hybrids is 1) they are not seedsaver friendly, and 2) they are produced by companies part of some evil empire mega-corporation. The fact that many of the same individuals who poo poo commercial hybrids then turn around and grow custom hybrids from private breeders doesn't surprise me at all. That's just part of the fun of exploring new tomato varieties. Now ... where the hell are those Sun Lucky F3 and Purple Haze F1 seeds?
