I have grown Cherokee Purple for many years and it is a mainstay. Much has been written about this one. I agree with Summerhawk about Pink Oxheart although in my area the green shoulders were not evident. Red Brandy here has been OK: other Brandywines do better for me: Sudduth's for example. Ne is a long way from Oregon however, so there may be differences.

Cherokee purple is excellent. Red brandywine is not. Others I haven't grown.

The Red Brandywine was one of my best last year.

Garf, where on the map are you?..... I presume North of me... the Brandywines aren't very productive in my heat... and they don't seem to taste as well here as touted in some of the Northern states, but then most states are North of me... LOL.... Cherokee Purple on the other hand is fantastic... and some years it is the most productive I have... not to mention a taste to die for this time of year while I set in the garden looking at all the little green maters growing soooo slowwwwllllly.
