Holy Moly that's a lot of maters. Do you mind if I ask how many are in your family?

I don't mean to intrude on the thread, but: what is "CSA"?

Community Supported Agriculture. People pay ahead and get a share of produce each week. www.localharvest.org

Thanks for both the explanation and the link (I checked out several of the sites on their links list). Very creative way of connecting local produce to the consumer market .... kind of like businesses whose employees own stock in the company.

minnie...nice list! I'd love to see what you think about the results, especially taste. In particular I'd like to hear how you and perhaps your customers liked Granny Cantrell, I have seed I purchased because I couldn't resist all the hype about how great it was. My garden plans fell through this year so it'll be next season before I get to try it. Also, I've wanted to grow marmande, and I've not really heard if it's a great tomato, average, or whatever. As with so many tomatoes, the typical review gives the non-commital "good flavor" as a description, which doesn't mean anything, really. It would be nice to hear about as many varieties as you would like to review. Thanks!

I won't be able to give much of a taste review. I grow for other people to eat and then I eat the ugly ones but I don't make sure to taste one of each variety. And this is kid of sad, but I have become much more concerned with performance of a variety than taste and color. I will always grow my fav persimmon but I am going to cull out some for next year that did badly growth wise.
I am not quite sure right now how the Grannys have been doing. i will get back on that one.

I highly recommend Orange Banana, as it is a great looking blemish free superb tasting and madly productive. I'm sure these would sell well too.

BTW if there would be a good concensus on another variety that is early and productive and not too much trouble I will try it. I didn't account for my pots so I could grow a few more in the garden. hint hint any suggestions?
