I have 15 f2 lines and one unintentional cross that I will grow for the first time, which is exciting for me. Ultimately I'd like a fruit that is 2-3 inches across and tastes as sweet/tart and fruity is some of the interspecific cherry crosses like sungold.

Each season I get more and more F2 seed that I want to grow more of than the seed I've saved from prior years. I either need more space, more patience or both and I definitely need helpers. For example, out of the 15 crosses I made in 2009 there is only one or two that are still somewhat exciting to me. The F2s from those two which were grown last year really didn't yield anything worth taking to the F3 generation this coming season. Those of you who have done breeding for a while, I'm sure this has happened to you. No? I'm sure this happens especially to people new to this like myself.
