Welcom Sheila, I use any technique that will allow me to grow in my climate. What state (or hardiness zone) are you gardening in? -Jay

Is it too early to be thinking about your tomato plants? Not if you're the competitive tomato gardening type who wants the earliest and sweetest tomato on the block. Unfortunately, growing great tomatoes doesn't just happen.

There are many things to consider before you proceed to your planning on how to execute different techniques on how to grow tomato. Like for example the climate, location etc. tucsontomato made a point what state are you gardening in?

Tomatoes can be the most rewarding of vegetables. They are easy to grow from seed, and can be grown in any size garden providing they are in a warm, sheltered spot. But it's important to choose the right variety, suited to the space you have available, and the location.
