This is a follow-up to another post... malichite box could be an exception. That one may be Gr (green ripe dominant gene) rather than the gf, green flesh, gene. I have not done any crosses with Gr to know specifically what the outcome would be. I had one but I was not sure of the stability of the potential Gr parent to say for sure. Are there any known stable greens with the Gr gene? Do any of the common GWRs (cherokee green, green giant, Grubs, etc) carry this gene? This is a dominant gene? Meaning that it will express more commonly in the F1 unless crossed with red flesh? Does the variety Evergreen contain the Gr gene?
