well JT started Lucky Cross....I was just thinking anyone could start one... I missed the rules, sorry. No big, I actually started Lucky Cross but it was formatted wrong and JT fixed it, before that it was Black from Tula. I did not present the thread properly and it had to be put into a user freindly form. There arent any rules, I usually post a New one every Sunday night.

There are no rules. You snooze, you lose Darth.
I grew it for the first time last year. 12-18oz large Pink beefsteaks. PL plants and late for me at 88 dtm. I taste tested it side-by-side with Daniels and Aunt Ginnys Purple, two other large, PL pinks, and it was the best of the three for taste in my opinion. Did not compare to Brandywine of Earls Faux though.

Ciao all-
Marianna's Peace was hugely productive for me when I grew it in 2005. I had a hard time keeping up with them and they were all well over a pound with several over 2 lbs each. I grew it again last year, but production was really poor and the flavour wasn't there. I think it needs a hot dry year to perform at its best.

I grow MP from time to time. Taste for me I'd say is in the "pretty good" range, but yield is on the low side. For red/pink taste and yield, I'd say that Earl's Faux, SOTW and Neves Azorean Red are much better...and prolly Aker's West Virginia. In fact, NAR is the best red/pink that I've grown. I'm growing several this year and will be my only muli-plant variety. But...this isn't an NAR thread is it....

Marianna's Peace is not on my yearly grow list. High production and good flavor.
