I'm not a tomato grower, but was invited here. I don't grow them because I'm allergic to them. Love them though - they just don't love me.
have had to resort to container gardening, because I have to do all my gardening after dark now, so I'm looking at peppers, squash, beans, and stuff like that. Wish me luck!

Good luck and welcome! No need to be a tomato grower to participate. We are all gardeners first off.

Welcome Bayougirl. I am curious though, why it is that you must garden after dark? Watched too many Vampire movies and have taken up a nocturnal lifestyle? Allergic to the Sun as well as tomatoes? Or working and don't get home late?

thank you for the warm welcome.
to answer the question, i have lupus that is aggravated by the sun. i've found that spf85 and a good hat is barely enough to let me go from my front door to the car, drive where i need to go, and get back home. working outside is impossible now. so i'm finding other ways around it!

i have lupus that is aggravated by the sun. I wasn't aware that Lupus posed problems with light sensitivity? I do hope that Container Gardening is the answer you are looking for.

it depends on the type of lupus, and if it has skin involvement. also depends on the meds being taken for treatment. add a skin involvement to sle and combine it with steroids and other immuno-suppressants and you get "no sun allowed". i'm ok though. spf 85 has become my friend
