This week's pick is Snow White. These have sold a lot of people on heirloom tomatoes for me. I just hand the a couple and they will buy just about anything I have. As you can see by the date they were still producing in Sept.

I've heard from many people that Snow White and Super Snow White are sweet and fruity. How would you describe the fruity flavor? Citrus? Melon? Any other comparison? Anyone who has tried them please give up some flavor descriptions.

Snow White is a smaller indeterminate tomato-leaf very pale yellow cherry tomato. Taste is good. Not strongly sweet or citrus. (I doubt if they'll hire me for wine tasting) though it does have hints of each.
A visually atractive fruit on a vine well sized for home gardening.

Jt not many tomatoes impress you, that is why I HAD to get Lucky Cross...hehehe..Granted the whites are not a strong tomato flavor, but the ones that I truly think are tasty are Weiss, White tomesol and Snow White. Snow White are similar in flavor to Sun Gold...just similar..they are sweet and have a rich flavor also. I would say they have a cleaner finish without that lingering flavor prevalent to Sungold, not much acid taste. If you dont think these are a tasty tomato there is definatley something major wrong with your taster!!!

I've never tried small white tomatoes that I recall? I've sampled many varieties at taste testings at Farmers Markets and a tasting that an SSE member held every year until 2008. But the only two varieties that stood out in my opinion were White Beauty (Snowball) and White Tomesol. But there's always room to try more

Ciao all-
I've grown Snow White Cherry twice and almost grew it again this year, but I'm trying out Petite Pomme Blanche for my white cherry this time. I do find it sweet and fruity. It hasn't been the most prolific of cherries for me, but that's not really an issue as I always grow at least 6 different kinds.

Grew it and wasn't overly impressed. The production was low and the taste was quite bland, still on the sweet side but bland. I actually preferred White Currant , that one was full of fruits, very sweet, a bit chewy but I am growing it again this year. Super Snow White was also way better Than Snow White for me. But I do live half way around the world, don't I... ;D ;D

Have you tried white currant...(spelling)? It is also known as Coyote. Lefty, I think you've confused the situation between Coyote and Champagne Cherry and several folks are growing out those two, seeds provided free by Adam Gleckler so as to make comparisons. Coyote is a variety from Mexico that was given to Craig LeHoullier by Mayo Clemente, at least I think that's her name, I didn't check. Snow White was bred by Joe Bratlka and is not an heirloom. He also bred Super Snow White, Rabbit, Ghost, Isis Canday, Marizol Pink, Marizol Red and all the Sarah thises and that'ses in different colors, oh, also Purple Brandywine, better known as Marizol Bratka. Joe was of the opinion that if folks wanted heirloom varieties, he'd breed them. Carolyn
