Well my garden is progressing. Got two hills of cucumbers and 8 very nice Black Krim maters planted. Thursdays goal is to get more maters planted which includes Cherokee Purple,Black from Tula,Paul Robeson and Mariana's Peace. And more pumpkins such as Howden and Cinderella. And I have a germination report. All 8 of my Kobacha squash came up and are looking very healthy. No sign of my AG Pumpkins yet. Should have the whole garden planted by the second week of June. Lots of work but well worth it.

You were able to plant yesterday? Guess Michigan wasn't affected by that storm system that came east from Sandusky Ohio and then followed the south shores of Lake Erie and Lake Ontario? My garden needed rain and we got more than enough to last a few days, although more expected overnight tonight. Keep working on planting Kevin. It's always encouraging when you start seeing plants come up.

Glad to hear everyone else is progressing. We have had a really good spring for planting thus I am 95% planted but I have had some issues with all of my peppers this year. I hope I get some. Dean

But not enough rain to keep me out of the garden.Soil was getting pretty dry. Now a week ago we had a real gully washer and the back yard between the house and garden was really soaked. No way I could garden then. Kevin

Update!!
AG pumpkins are up except for one. They decided to make their appearance over night it seems. Also lost one of three Rouge d' Irak maters to critters unknown. Could have been a rabbit or cut worm. It was just the one plant no evidence cept the stump cut off at the soil line. The top was no where to be seen.

Chipmunk maybe? I did see one running about a couple days ago. Oh and the final AG pumpkin is up! All look healthy. Got Mariana's Peace in the ground. Can't wait to see how they turn out.

The power of a hot pepper seems to have worked. No further damage.preparing to put summer squash, green beans more melons, peppers, okra and (surprise surprise) more tomatoes. Now I wonder what this critter would have done if it was Bhut Jalokia powder? Also my Howden pumpkins are coming up.

Tomatoes are ripening nicely, I've been eating al Icare to for more than 4 weeks. Curcurbits are passing away-cuke done, summer squash and zucc's ditto. The kast planted of a main crop was Whipple's White a sweet corn witch has erupting silks, so I think it will bear this year..
Not bad for an adlibed garden inna community garden.

Kevin, I had slugs eat all the leaves and stems off a Marconi pepper in a container. They didn't eat the immature peppers.... I moved the container away from the house and out to the garden bed and the plant is slowing growing new foliage. I doubt if there is time to grow peppers on it now, but I thought I would give it all the opportunity it needed. The slugs went after my White Habaneros this week, but I moved those containers as well in an attempt to save the crop.
