Darth, and anyone else who here makes their living (or a portion of it) raising veggies...
If you sell via a CSA or direct market to the Restaurant trade, how far does your business take you? 50 miles? 100? Like for instance, Darth, who lives in some tiny little burg that isn't even listed on our trucking atlas here...where's your major market to supply restaurants??
We only sold at farmgate. But I know that I lost a good portion of business especially with fresh lamb because I wouldn't make the drive.
How 'bout you?

I thought this was a simple question. Guess not.

hey blr darth's best customers are bears so they come to him, hehe If things work out, I'll eventually be growing for market. I have a farmer's market, a small one, 10 miles away. There's a larger one 25 miles away, and a huge one 35 miles away. There are any number of potential restaurant customers within 30 to 45 minutes, and a specialty grocer specializing in local and organic products 30 miles away. The market is really wide open if I reach the point of having a reliable supply of product.

Hey Pepp, You have all the potential in the world where you are!! Some of my favourite restaurants are within a 40 minute drive of your place, and I don't mean the Sonic, lol
Where's the farmers market, Shawnee??
