SunSugar is said to be similar in flavor to SunGold, but more crack resistant. Are there any opinions out there about either of these two claims? Flavor or crack resistance?
Based on my limited experience, I have seen SunSugar produce many split fruit just like sungold. I am growing both this year and wonder about the crack resistant trait carrying over to future generations if it is used as a pollen source.

I made several crosses last year with SunSugar as a parent, and have F2 families in the field this summer. I should have some info on cracking a little later this month.

I am growing Sunsugar this year for the first time in the same bed as Sungold. I will have a better idea of comparison in a couple weeks when I get some ripeys from both. What I can tell you to this point is that the "sungold Smell" is apparent with Sunsugar also. Production, maturity and plant habit seems nearly identical to me as well.
Does anyone know if Sunsugar comes from the same breeder?

Does anyone know if Sunsugar comes from the same breeder? No, Sungold comes from Tokita Seed and Sunsugar comes from Seminis.
