Well, there is no scientific evidence that it is LB resistant. All I can tell you is last year I grew it for the first time and as late blight took down my entire garden, Daniels was the last plant standing. Potato leaf plant that produces large pink beefsteaks. 12-18oz for me last year. I taste tested it side-by-side with mariannas peace and aunt ginnys and it was second behind MP. Growing it again this year and hope to try it next to prudens purple and brandywine. In this shot you can see the daniels plant in front left compared to the other 9 plants in that same bed. Again, not scientific by any means.

Nygel, of course its a good one....Daniels is one of my fave PLs.....a robust, well growing and tasty mater....only one thick half inch slice needed for for a BLT to gorge ones self on....whossey eaters need not apply !!
Ursula sends her well wishes and promises not to chase you up a big white pine tree until you are fully recovered !!
HEAL QUICK AND WELL MY FRIEND, BRO, and PRINCE OF THE SPUDLEAF !!

Daniels 2009; seed source, selectedplants.com in 2008, who I believe got them from Robbins, KCtomato's friend from the Missouri Ozarks. I first grew Daniels in 2008, and thought it was a bit strong tasting for my taster buds. I grew it again in 2009, and thought it was one of the very best tomatoes in the garden. I had to pick them a bit early though because of the excessive rainfall in 2009. In any case, I'd strongly recommend growing Daniels. Very good plant and very good tomato. Listed Daniels in the 2010 SSE Yearbook and got zero requests ... another reason I've about given up on SSE. PV

Listed Daniels in the 2010 SSE Yearbook and got zero requests ... another reason I've about given up on SSE. PV Maybe this small bit of advertising will be enough to get some to request it. I know I'm going to try and remember to order, but I, for one, have never heard of it before. I've had 1 request in 4 years of listing, not that I really have anything rare, but come on. On another note, I caught a 22" fluke last night, and cleaned it this morning, and will eat it tonight. YUM! Almost as good as a ripe tomato. ;D Happy Gardening, Tom
