Was this the weekend for Darth to open for the Nuge?? But is Darth still in hospital recovering from whatever malady befell him? And I see some other valued Members of TG involved in a Bruhaha on another forum over the absence or abundance of Calcium in soil. Boys Boys Boys, mebbe you should have saved the epsom salts for a good long soak in the bathtub after you finished mudslinging? I stopped in here several times. Nothing doing? I figured you were all outside working on your gardens. Apparently not,

I ate my third and fourth tomato last night. None of the very few OP tomatoes in this years community garden (which is as close as I'm gettin' to a garden this year) are near to ripe yet.
Still sleepin' rough...

Tom, I've only had two ripe Stupice so far, a handfull of Tiny Tims and one Yellow Marble so you're not alone there. Mulio...I've had that kind of a summer as well. Camera died just after taking pics of the garden and some gorgeous vehicles at a Car Show...Then my puter died..I bought a new camera but it's very basic. Still trying to figure out if I can edit photo size when taking pics or if I have to do it all online? And the "new" puter is a 5 yr old rebuild... When you do get more Iranian tomatoes and a camera that cooperates, I will look forward to seeing the pics.

I've been
1) Off line because of computer virusses 2) Depressed because all f2 growouts of Lime Green Salad x Green Giant I've tried so far are the worst tasting things I've ever put in my mouth.
3) Busy picking first ripe fruits from a lot of my plants and gorgeing on tomatoes and tomato, onion and mayo sandwiches. Everything is a couple of weeks early (80-85 DTM beefsteaks coming in at 65 days and less), so maybe if you got the heat wave up north we did in June you're stuff should be comming on soon.
I love a good forum scrap because there is usually really good information on one side and an entertaining idiot on the other side of the arguement. I must not belong to the forum in question or else I skipped the thread in question.

I trust it's all fixed now too. Gorging on Onion and Mayo Sammies? I haven't heard anyone say that for years! Fabulous Fare. ;)Cucumber and Mayo sandwiches are another lost art....

Don't know tz so I won't tease him, but bluelaced is fair game... Have you never heard of blt's? Maybe that's why you haven't heard much discussion on OTM's in all those years! ;D Not that I don't love a good onion.

Pepp, I even love just plain toasted tomato with mayo sammies...hold the nitrates. Or toasted tomato and cheese. Yummmmm(o) But it's not often that someone will admit to eating onion and garlic sandwiches...Do you think that's why I don't have any friends except for online?

The best pizza I ever had was in an Italian restaurant where I knew the cook. I told him, "I'll leave it up to you to make us a great pizza, just surprize us." He brought out a garlic pizza. Just cheese, sauce and garlic. OMG! No need for anything else. He quit and went to work at some other restaurant awhile later, and I've never trusted anyone else to just "make us a great pizza." Luckily, there are several great pizza places in Norman, including one with a 2 generations of Italian men from the old country making New York style pizza. Anything you order is going to be great, but I'm fond of their supreme pizza. They're the only place I know of around here that serves pizza by the slice just like in NY, one slice seems to weigh about a pound, hehe.

Picked about 20 Lbs of beans out of the community garden here, their headed for the local food pantry. Picked a half dozen zukes too. and about the same count of slicers.

Too many other great dining experiences like Jimmy's Egg for Breakfast (Their Smoked Pork Chops, OMG) or suppers at a BBQ place the name of which escapes me it's been so long....

bbq, could be one that came and went, or could be Van's Pig Stand... Norman's Jimmy's Egg is gone, there's at least one in OKC... sometime check out Fazzoli's Italian in Shawnee, you'll get an excellent pasta dinner with soup or salad, garlic bread and an entree for under $ 7, best pasta anywhere...well, unless we're talking New York Pizza (mentioned above) with an ocean of pasta, salad and bread from $6.99 to 11.99, one entree is enough for two meals...best chicken Marsala in the world next to mine...well, mine is mindblowing, and my spaghetti...anyway, point is, yeah, the Ital hereabouts rivals anything anywhere... my chili is the best anywhere too, too bad you don't get down here more often! Seriously, though, it's amazing how many killer places there are to eat in Shawnee, a city I never knew had anything to offer...now if I wanted some excellent Vietnamese or Thai, OKC has the real sh#t, but usually I'd rather eat my own cooking than drive 20, 30 or 40 miles to gorge out, unless I just have an unstopable craving...heeeeeeeehe ;D

We usually go to Jimmy's Egg in MWC. Geez I hope it's still there! I agree with you Pepp, that it's important to support local establishments, and to me, that doesn't mean frequenting Sonic cuz they built one in "your" town. I'm not surprised actually that Shawnee does have decent fare. They are just far enough out of the OKC that those who live there don't want to drive back for supper if they just took the long commute home. I played that game for many years. It's great to have places to go without wasting your entire evening driving. But when we drive 1485 miles to visit friends, I don't mind driving another 20 miles in any direction to check out good eats. ;D
