Looks like most of mine are being grown by someone else too Jalapeno Purple Jalapeno Jalamundo Suave (really excited to try these) Numex Sunrise/Sunset/Twilight (hoping for one of each) Big Jim Heritage Big Jim Serrano Sweet Chocolate Hungarian Wax Black Hungarian I think that is all of them. Our big thing is salsa, so we are growing multiples of the jalapenos and serranos for that reason. Hoping the sunrise/sunset/twilight will work well for that too. The Big Jim's are just for munching on. That is one of the best tasting peppers I have ever had. Some heat to them, but the best flavor I have ever had in a pepper. Absolutely fabulous chopped up and put in a salad. I am pretty excited for the Heritage Big Jim too, same great taste with a little bit more heat.

Ciao PPK-
If you like Big Jims, you're apt to love Fresnos as well. They have more heat, but they've got fantastic flavour and I used a fair number of them for any Mexican type things, salsa included. PM me if you'd like some seeds.

I grew Suave the last two years and I am not sure what I think about them. Very productive for me.

Yes! No...Sauve Red and Suave Orange, yet another offshoot of the NMSU pepper research station. Non-lethal habaneros.

I grew Suave the last two years and I am not sure what I think about them. Very productive for me. Might I ask why you are undecided about the Suaves? Not having grown a hot pepper before,I thought that growing one of these might be an option. I have noticed that my seedlings appear to be stalled out.I transplanted to a mix of coco/sand/pumice on the 3rd of March, and have seen no more growth.Still just seedling leaves showing so far.I am unsure as to whether to give them a light dose of liquid ferts in an attempt to spur some growth.Maybe 1/4 strength?I am a little reluctant to do this, seeing as how I don't even have any true leaves yet...that and they have only been transplanted for 4 days.Still,I was expecting them to show some signs of growth by now. Any advice? Attachments:

Ciao tropgrower-
I'm curious why you chose the mix you did for transplanting. It may be a little heavy for them. I wouldn't feed them yet, though. You may do more harm than good at this stage.

You are right of course,I'm getting the old "waiting/watching for water to boil" syndrome.
The mix is the best I could do here. The potting/seedling mix that they use here is about the same as what I have mixed (no commercial potting mix like you can get in the US or Canada).I'd like to find some perlite, but it's like trying to find purple unicorns.I will find some eventually, but will have to make do till then.
