Here is a nice tomato from Brad Gates {Wild Boar Farms} This one is called Beauty Queen. I grew these with Beauty King which I didnt see a whole lot of difference, it seemed Queen was earlier and had better production, or maybe it was where I had it in the garden. Anyway the taste is pretty good and its striped!! I love stripes. But my chefs love em more!! se

Yes, Another looker from WBFs. I grew the Beauty King last year and the chefs did rave, I've grown lots of WBFs varietys and I thought that Beauty Kings taste wasn't up there with the norm for Brads varietys so I've been hesitant to try Beauty Queen.

i'm growing Beauty Queen from 2 sources this year. Neither of mine show such distinctive stripes tho. Most are just yellow with a red/pink blush on the bottom. Like the upper right one in the pic. Is it possible that the stripping is weather dependant. Stronger when warmer or cooler or Carol

Carol, as we've discussed before there appears to be considerable variability within some of the WBF varieties. I have a "true to type" seed source if you are interested. BQ is one of my favorites.

I just looked up the seed source for my Beauty Queen seeds. One was a trade so I don't know their source. The other was from another small company I'm growing seeds for. The seeds they sent me were in a package from another company often mentioned in regard to mixed/off type seeds. At least 1 other variety from that same source is also mixed.
I do think tho that many of the bi-colors are temp dependant and express the colors or stripes differently under various conditions. At least my other bi-colors seem to look different in different years.
And yes I've also seen the variability in WBF varieties. Great tomatoes but hard to reproduce at times.

Carol, I would be more than glad to send you some of mine, I live in Northern Mich, so I dont think there is to much difference in our conditions.

I looked at some of the tomatoes deeper in the bucket that's waiting to be processed and some of the others seem to have more striping than those on the top. Not as distinct as in your pic, but better than I originally saw. There are still greenies out there too so I'll watch to see how they do first.
Thanks, Carol
