What is your favorite cucumbers for pickling? I'm looking for one that doesn't get all mushy after pickling it.

If it's Dills, I have a recipe that doesn't require boiling water bath processing. I think often that processing is the culprit not the cucumber. Wisconsin SMR 58 was always a favourite of mine for pickling; National Pickling also good. If there are newer, 'better' ones on the market these days I don't know. I stopped making pickles when my son left home.

I tried one called "muncher" it made great salads but when i made the pickles they were just too soft, we like crispy pickles here.
