last year is the first time i ever canned tom juice. got this from idig...can't remember who from, but it's really good!
V-4 TOMATO JUICE COCKTAIL
18 lbs. ripe tomatoes (7 qts. juice) 1/4 c. chopped onion 2 c. chopped celery 1 c. chopped carrots 1/2 c. sugar 4 tbsp. picking salt 1 tbsp. celery seeds
Skin tomatoes. Cut tomatoes into kettle. As it boils, add other vegetables, salt, sugar and spices. Simmer uncovered 20 minutes. Put through sieve or food mill. Return juice to pot and boil. Pour into 7 hot quart jars. Process pressure cooker 5 minutes at 5 lbs. or boiling water bath for 35 minutes.

Come on folks, Bunk and I cant be the only one's to think this a great drink...even though I would add a dash of basco.

Bunkie, I think there were 3 of us who shared Veggie cocktail recipes back in 2008? We preferred the one you posted, that much I know. A local friend shared a recipe with me that coulda used some horseradish and a few swigs of hot sauce. All Veggie Cocktails are not created equal.
One thing I did do when I made this in 2008 was to use several yellow tomatoes in the mix. It imparted a gorgeous glow to the juice.

I'm with DLD! Vodka and hot sauce. I am not a Franks hot sauce either. I am either e tobasco or there is one I can pick up at one of the local South American Grocery Stores... I cannot remember the name but it has heat. And its great with homemade V4 V6 or V8 Juice. I made some v? juice last year with celeric root. It was really good. Also black tomatoes are the best for any juice.
