Thanks for the info. I think that maybe a "HYBRIDIZING TIPS " section that is separate from the "BREEDING" section might be a good thing.
jcm05 stated the other day in Blanes thread about making the potato leaf parent the "seed" parent so you can tell if a cross was successful as soon as the leaves appear instead of waiting and guessing. Another great tip. There is a tremendous amount of experience represented at this forum. I would love to see a bunch of the pros post some of their "tips".

Interesting idea. I am certainly gonna try this. My normal "crossing" season only lasts 3, maybe 4 weeks at most starting in the second or third week of June and ending when the heat and humidity start up. Conceivably this could increase the time by more than 50%. I found myself desperately waiting for the first blossoms last season.

I have begun doing mulio's suggestion this year. I have started all of my planned "parents" 3 weeks ahead of most of my other stuff. Hoping to get an extra week or two of crossing time before the heat and humidity sets in and ruins my fun. ;D Parents
