I'm getting started this year. I have a very mickeymouse version of the above. I think I'll see if I can't find a few more barrels to mutilate. I really like the simplicity of his setup.

Yep, mine is a bit smaller too, but I add the burned matter to my compost. Not sure if I should, but no problems with anything all these years.

That's probably the best way to add it to your soil. Mixing it with your compost charges it with nutrients, so you see no "theft" of nitrogen in yur garden.

Cindy = do a search on TLUD stoves = they are basically a miniature version of the above setup. There is no more smoke from them than from a charcoal barbecue. You could easily go up to a ten gallon size, and utilize the flame for cooking.
