I've been lurking and learning for a while now and wanted to say hi to everyone. I'm a fairly new gardener and tomatoes were my first vegetable to grow and are still my favorite. I started with hybrids and have two growing this year but the other 12 or 13 are heirlooms. Earlier this year I was taking my seedlings outside for the day when my cat and dog got under my feet and I dropped two seedlings and decapitated a Riesentraube. I had learned that you could put the top back in the soil and it would take root...and it did. I have also heard that you can take a sucker and root it in water, then plant it. I'm trying that this week with a Pink Ponderosa. I had no idea that tomatoes are so easy to get along with. I'm happy to be here and I love the Tomato of the Week thread!

Thanks for the warm welcomes! For the first time this year l have more types of tomato seeds than l had room to grow plus l've separated my tomato seeds from the rest of the veggies. And l get them out just to look at them. So l'm thinking l'll never have enough. Looking forward to learning so much more.
