jxb.oxfordjournals.org/content/58/14/3841.full.pdf is a very good review paper on tomato domestication and includes an overview of genes controlling fruit size and color. The green stripe gene (gs) controls stripes in the epidermis and is considered a recessive gene, though in the heterozygous form there can be some faint striping.

Yea Mark! Excellent read there, it almost made my brain hurt! I always wondered about Anthocyanin being in Peppers too...Sure enough, Its stated, and my Black Jalapeno is showing it in the leaves and fruits! I also saw the word "Petunia" what exactly did this mean, A name? Not the flower....right?

I will contribute once I get into that "vein" of discussion, that line of thinking. I'm not there yet.
