I recently tried something new.
Fried Radishes. I am serious. I fried up some ham slices and I heard how great fried radishes are. So, I tried it with just store bought radishes... I sliced them into the hot oil, and fried them right with the ham, removing them as they got softened and lightly browned... Yum.
I continued my experiment, and made stir fry... and you got it... I also stir fried some radish slices in as I fried the various veggies, and then combined them all, and warmed the whole dish, peppers, onion, garlic, radishes, cabbage, green onions, celery and cabbage. Then I stir fried bits of ham for added flavor, and once it was all cooked and together, I just sprinkled on some soy sauce... it was good eating!
I am thinking, shish kabobs, with tiny tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, a whole garlic , tiny onions (maybe egyptian walking?) and possibly adding some radishes to this... hmm with a nice steak cut in chunks... oh my.

they're wonderful in soups and stews, and grilled on the bbq!

Yessirree, I've got some growing too. I've never had radishes so sweet as the ones the soil produces here, but I'll bet cooking takes the "heat" out of hot radishes like storeboughts.
