Your thoughts? I'm growing this variety this year and would like to know your thoughts on it?

I have grown it and it is a great tomato, similar to a Brandywine but way more productive. Good just to eat in the garden. Mine were all about medium sized some bigger average was about 10 oz.

It's a fine variety. Fruit is just a little smaller than Brandywine and tastes almost as good as Brandywine. I grew it for a number of years. Thumbs Up!

For me PP tastes better than brandywine, since a higher percentage of the smaller fruits ripen to dead ripe without blossom end rot and other defects that affect flavor. I am in CT where it is cooler and wetter. It is often a bit more susceptible to disease than most however. I cannot remember another tomato beating it in a side by side taste test here.

I think TimothyT needs to give his input.

I've grown PP twice. the first year it was really productive and very good tasting. The 2nd year was just average yield, but still good taste. I like that it is pretty early too. My plants grew pretty big. I'm growing again this year.

Hmmm, productive? Not for me, there's only one fruit on the plant and that plant is growing next to the Cowlick's and Aunt Ginny's Purple which are loaded with fruit, so I guess I just got a bad line. But that one fruit is big, I will be picking it in a few days, so at least I will get to taste it to see if it is as good as you all say it is...

Yeah, its not terribly productive for me either this year. I have two plants with maybe 4-5 fruit on them in a year where most plants in my garden had a banner year production-wise.

Hmmmm, interesting, this year for me PP is quite productive. I'm gonna grow several next year I think. The plant has grown to a huge size too, well at least larger than the next biggest by about a foot.

I continue to have great luck with Prudens Purple. Flavor yield and size are all excellent on 7 plants. One turned out to be RL; the fruits are not as tasty on that one.

Very good tasting variety for me. First fruit ripened at 77DTM in a vary early season for all varieties due to warm early temps. Does not compare to Brandywine for me in either yield or flavor. I have tried many pink beefsteaks and none have measured up to it in flavor. Not even close actually. Haven't got any pics of it however. Still some fruit on the plant though.
