Wow, did you read the part that they harvested 4,000 pounds? That is alot of tomatoes, and alot of work! I was amazed that he gets 10 to 25 pounds per plant. I get 1 or 2 tomatoes, a really good plant will give me 4 or 5! Wow. I did comment on the photos he has in his albums of his tomatoes just loaded with fruit. Wonder if it is his techniques, climate, or types of tomatoes? Wow I would be happy with 1 pound per plant... 25 just blows my mind.

I was sure tickled when I bought the Almanac and opened it to that article. I had to check Dan's name and address to make sure it was the Dan I knew...I'd received seeds and even dried Lemondrop peppers from Dan and Val earlier that year. In keeping with their wishes, I'd managed to share those peppers with roughly 12 people that year. I will always think of Dan and Val when I think of Guernsey Pink Blush, Jack Johnson, Coastal Pride Orange and the other 'maters they were kind enough to share with me, and especially Lemondrop Peppers, which have found new homes all across the country.
