Ciao all-
Rich isn't around right now so I'll start.
Basil is the main herb I grow from seed and I started these this morning:
Botanical Interests' Custom Blend Blue Spice Siam Queen Purple Petra Pistou Lime Mrs. Burns Lemon Red Rubin Genovese Napolitano Purple Delight Karkazskiy from Andrey in Belarus Anise Cinnamon Licorice Persian Anise Greek Yevani Violetta
Other herbs I usually buy as bedding plants because either they're too tender for our zone to over-winter or too tough to start from seed.
Rosemary Lemongrass Mexican Oregano Hops
Perennial herbs that are hardy to zone 5
Lovage French Tarragon Lemon Thyme Orange Thyme Greek Oregano Italian Oregano Sicilian Oregano Variegated Marjoram Chocolate Mint Pineapple Mint Ginger Mint Garden Sage Pineapple Sage Lemon Balm English Lavender Variegated Lavender White Sweet Woodruff Blue Woodruff - starting from seed this year Anise Hyssop Yellow Yarrow Chives Blue Borage Garlic Chives - starting from seed this year White Borage - starting from seed this year Wild Bergamot Echinacea White Swan - starting from seed this year
I'm also going to try to start Red Gem Marigolds from seed this year. They are tiny edible flowers that I can maybe put in an old pair of Munchkin's rainboots that I use as planters every year.

My gosh! I normally only grow the basics. REGULAR genovese basil, rosemary, thyme, lavender, mint, dill, sage, oregano. I don't start any from seed though. Just too much to handle with all the other things that i do.

Sorellina, Might I ask where you buy Ginger Mint plants? That sounds like a variety I would like to add to my herb garden. Never mind. I found it on Freeman Herbs listing. Ought to be one of the many retail outlets in S. Ontario that carry their products that I can buy it at.

I think this year we will be growing a few types of basil but that is probably it. I going to have a hard enough time fitting all my plants in my limited space

Sorellina, thanks. I've bought seeds from Richters, but I never seemed to find the time to visit their store when it was only a 2 hour drive for me. Now that it's a 3+, I can't see that happening. But never say Never

Ciao Redhead-
You could always make a day of it and drag Audrey along. She's in your neighbourhood and she's been known to come all the way here for our Seedy Saturdays.

Ciao Redhead- Oh I know. We get a super early start when we spend the day in Niagara or Buffalo.

Ciao Dean-
All of your moved herbs are really hardy and also put up with a significant level of abuse, so you should be ok.
